PORTSMOUTH ROLLER WENCHES have represented the city of Portsmouth since 2010 and reached their highest rank of 70 out of 533 teams in Europe in 2019.

The league regularly recruit all genders of skater, aged 18+, no experience necessary, pathways include both playing and officiating.

Modern Roller Derby is a full-contact team sport played on roller skates, on an oval-shaped track with similar aims to rugby. Instead, players are trying to get a team-mate through an opposing team not a ball.

The sport celebrates diversity of all kinds:
– Powerful bodies of all shapes and sizes
– A place to promote positive mental health through physical activity
– Safe space for LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse communities to thrive.

Roller Derby has recently been featured by Adidas, Teen Vogue, BBC Sport and Red Bull.

The hosts of the next Roller Derby World Cup in 2025 have been announced as Innsbruck, Austria.
